I started with rock band 2 and was just looking to add more songs to my library. Turns out, for us a little bit older people, there are more good songs on 1 than 2. Getting a bulk of songs buying this was cheaper than $2 each downloading from microsoft and not all these songs are available for download either. Didn't have to tour long to unlock all the songs, unlike 2 that took forever just to get all the 2000+ era garbage our youth calls music. Just a note, if you have rockband 2 your instruments will work for Guitar Hero III and newer, I bought most of those too for the same reason.Get more detail about Rock Band.
